Laminated Glass

Bonded safety glass that holds together when broken

Laminated glass sandwiches a resilient plastic interlayer — PVB, EVA, or a structural ionoplast — between glass panes and fuses them under heat and pressure. When struck, the glass may crack but the fragments stay bonded to the interlayer rather than falling free, holding the opening closed and reducing injury. The same construction screens out virtually all UV and meaningfully lowers sound transmission, which makes it a frequent choice for overhead glazing, security glazing, and acoustic separation.
